These are the citizens of Betaville who have yet to succumb to the infectious zombie virus. Citizens can do many things that the primitive and instinctual zombies cannot, and as such have very versatile play styles.

Citizens can perform many actions such as barricading doors and stairways, searching for various items that help them survive, or repairing various objects damaged by rampaging zombies. The role that each citizen performs is largely influenced by the five citizen classes that can be specialized in.
